My Work
“I believe good leadership starts with listening, learning, and then getting to work for the people I serve.”
Lower Costs. Stronger Families. Healthier Communities.
From local government to the State House, my work begins with the people I serve. I listen to residents, learn from people with lived experience, and work with community partners to pursue practical solutions for Waterville, Winslow, and Maine.
Experienced Leadership
I represent House District 64, covering parts of Waterville and Winslow, and serve on the Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services. I also represent Ward 2 on the Waterville City Council.
I also serve on Maine’s Office of New Americans Advisory Council and the Substance Use Disorder Services Commission, bringing community voices into statewide work on immigrant integration, prevention, treatment, and recovery.
My community experience includes working as a Child Tax Credit organizer with Maine Equal Justice, serving on the Kennebec Valley Community Action Program Board of Directors, and participating as a Maine Parent Ambassador alumna.
Leadership for Our Families
On the Health and Human Services Committee, I have worked to improve access to health care and reduce costs. I have supported efforts to make school funding fairer, protect working families and seniors, and lower the costs of housing, child care, and energy.
I have also championed legislation to modernize EMS reimbursement and support community paramedicine, and supported protections that limit aggressive medical-debt collection from wages and homes.
Legislative Work
LD 1876, Helping Mainers Claim the Tax Relief They Have Earned
I sponsored LD 1876, my first bill signed into law. Enacted as Public Law 2025, chapter 486, it strengthens the Taxpayer Advocate’s role in helping Mainers access tax-benefit programs, examines why eligible residents miss valuable state credits, including the Property Tax Fairness Credit, and provides funding for free volunteer tax preparation and financial education for low-income families.
LD 1566, Valuing Lived Experience
I sponsored LD 1566, An Act to Provide Compensation to Individuals with Lived Experience Serving on Certain Advisory Boards, Commissions, Councils and Similar Groups. The measure was enacted as Public Law 2025, chapter 503. It recognizes that people who bring direct experience to public decision-making deserve meaningful access and support.
Community Service
Outside formal government meetings, I help residents navigate taxes, benefits, Social Security, identification barriers, and other systems that can be difficult to understand. I collaborate with community organizations and service providers on issues affecting children, families, people with disabilities, immigrants, and residents experiencing homelessness.
Moving Forward Together means listening to everyone, bringing people together, and getting results.
